Our team is working hard to make your family housing the best in the entire United States Air Force. As part of that goal, Corvias Military Living has entered the second stage of our five-year housing renovation plan for Edwards AFB.
Stage two includes more extensive renovations to 230 homes in Joshua Acres and Juniper Ridge. Examples of upgrades include adding a larger garage door, new light fixtures, flooring, landscaping and the repair or replacement of household appliances. The backyards in both neighborhoods will also be transformed to look similar to the backyards in the Acacia Hills neighborhood. The plan is to use native plants and a smaller grass pad to create drought-tolerant landscaping.
Our goal is to not to disrupt your day-to-day life, but at times the noise and traffic from the renovations will be unavoidable. Removing sections of the floor and walls in the garage will be noisy and dirty. We apologize in advance; our team members will make every effort to perform these tasks in the late morning and afternoon.
We will make every attempt to renovate the structures after families vacate the home and depart Edwards.
It’s our sincere pleasure to be able to care for and serve our military families. We greatly appreciate your patience and if you have any questions please call the community office at (661) 385-6060.

The trash and recycling pickup schedule is going to change this summer. Beginning July 1, the trash schedule will go from five days a week to two days. Mountain View, Mesquite Meadows, and Joshua Acres neighborhoods will have trash and recycling pick up on Thursday. Juniper Ridge, Tamarisk Plains, Acacia Hills and Palo Verde neighborhoods will have trash and recycling pickup on Friday. We’d like to remind residents that the gray garbage can is for recycling and that the brown or green garbage can should be used for trash.
All trash that is not collected on a holiday (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas) is picked up the next working day. All the homes that were scheduled for pickup on Friday, July 4 will be serviced on Monday, July 7.
Corvias Military Living is launching the Yard of the Month program for 2014. The program is designed to recognize residents who make a special effort to improve their home’s landscaping. This year’s competition runs monthly from July through September.
Judging for Yard of the Month will take place the third Friday of each month during the competition. Judges will select one Edwards Air Force Base home as the winner.
The first month will be judged on July 18. On that day, judges will ride through their community and select the home that best meets the following criteria:
· Overall appearance (landscaping, lawn ornaments, etc.)
· Flowerbeds free of weeds and grass
· Driveway free of grease and oil
· Free of trash, debris and pet waste
The winner will have the Yard of the Month sign displayed in front of their home, their picture in Corvias Community News and will also receive a $50 gift card.
Why is your Corvias Community the best place to live? Discover what the winners of the video contest have to say.

We would like to thank our residents for their video submissions. There were so many amazing entries, it was difficult to select a winner. Your feedback is very important to us. Through your suggestions we find ways to improve our service for all residents. That’s why we’ve implemented a convenient way for residents to provide us with feedback!
Within seven days of a completed service request, you should receive a link to an online survey from firstname.lastname@example.org. While participation is voluntary, we hope that you will take just a few minutes to answer 10 questions about our performance. The survey is designed to help improve our customer service to you and your family.
We appreciate your feedback! Our goal is to provide the best homes, community, service and value to you. With your advice, Corvias Military Living can work to improve your experience.
Having a pet is fun, but pet ownership also comes with many responsibilities. If you already have a family pet, or are thinking about getting one, here are some tips to keep in mind.
Care for your pet
Caring for your animal is the greatest responsibility of pet ownership. Your pet depends on you for basic needs such food, water and shelter. To keep your animal healthy, make sure your pet is registered with the Edwards veterinarian, vaccinated and gets annual check-ups.
Pets require your time and attention. Whether your pet requires a lot of care or is low maintenance, find time to spend with your pet. Brushing your pet is a great way to spend some time together and can reduce pet hair around the house.
Regularly exercise your pet to keep them happy and healthy. Going for a walk or playing around the house or the Edward’s Bark Park benefits both you and your pet.
Dealing with pet waste is one of those topics that every pet owner must deal with but no one likes to talk about. The fact is that the majority of community and neighborhood pet problems result from the inappropriate handling of pet waste. In addition, pet waste is the greatest source of potential health risk for your pet and your family. Scoop litter boxes daily and clean them regularly. If your pet spends time outside your house, clean up waste from the yard.
For your pet’s wellbeing make sure you always follow the Pet Policy outlined in the Resident Responsibility Guide. For more information on pet ownership visit the American Veterinary Medical Association’s website.
Nothing says summer like a flame broiled hotdog or hamburger. But before you break out the grill, here are a couple of suggestions to keep your outdoor barbecue safe and satisfying. Propane and charcoal grills should only to be used outdoors and be placed at least 15 feet away from any structure. Never cook under an overhang or store propane gas cylinders in buildings or garages. A grill should never be left unattended and should only be lit by a responsible adult. Follow these simple rules and you’re guaranteed a delicious and fulfilling summer.
Nothing celebrates America like the 4th of July, but using fireworks, firecrackers, or other pyrotechnics is prohibited on Edwards AFB. Only the installation commander can approve the use of fireworks on the base. If you want to experience fireworks at Edwards, you can attend the 2014 Freedom Fest. The event is July 4 from 4:30 to 10:00 p.m. and includes live bands, vendors, water fun and a fireworks display. The event will be located at the Wings and Roberts Fields. This free event is open to the entire Edwards AFB community.
PCSing from California can be an expensive and long process. Before you leave, you can lighten your load with an on-base yard sale. Contact the Corvias Community Manager for permission and follow these simple rules.
- One yard sale per household, per quarter
- 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday
- Only one sign posted on the property where the sale is occurring
- Only dispose of personal household items, no business-related activities
Contact the community manager at 661-385-6060 or visit our Community Office to schedule your yard sale.
How can you beat the heat this summer? Avoid using heat generating appliances during the hottest part of the day! Things such as your clothes dryer, oven and dish washer can all generate a lot of heat, which can make it harder to cool your home.
Your community calendar can help you stay up-to-date on trash, recycling, lawn care, resident events and community activities.
